Christmas Morning Activity

Growing up in the tropics, anything snow-related is like the dream. And doing it on Christmas morning, when you're still buzzing from the festivities of the night before, just adds to that magical Christmas vibe.

So, we decided to hit up the outdoor skating rink at Maggie Daley Park. I've been ice skating indoors plenty of times, but let me tell you, skating outside? It's a whole new ball game! Maggie Daley Park is linked to Millennium Park by the BP Bridge, so be sure to grab a map when you arrive. We noticed there are actually two rinks there—one smaller, and the one we opted for, which is the bigger one

If you're a skating whiz, Maggie Daley Park is your stage to bust out those ice skating dance moves! We spotted a couple gliding around so effortlessly—it was like watching a real-life ice dancing show. But hey, if you're not feeling too confident on the ice, no worries! You can rent these cool polar bear aids for just 10 bucks (at least, that was the deal when we were there). They've also got a wall climbing area, although we didn't give it a shot because, it was freezing cold! Oh, and if you need a warm-up, there's this awesome coffee truck parked right in the waiting area.
